Aspirin is not just a pain killer?

It also can be applied as facial mask to cure acne. Aspirin has BHA or salicylic acid and anti-inflammatory. The aspirin mask is most effective on erupted pimples – those which have come to a “head” and are ready to be popped, or have popped. In the case of those pimples, the aspirin mask may reduce redness and swelling, and also dries the pimple, to reduce its size.

On the other hand, the mask is largely or sometimes completely ineffective on cystic acne and so-called “underground” pimples – those pimples which sit beneath the surface and hurt when touched. The aspirin simply does not absorb into the skin.

Recommended to use the aspirin power or simple tablet. If you can coated aspirin, – it will take very long time to dissolve.

Aspiring as facial scrub

Besides, you can use aspirin as facial scrub by simply dissolve aspirin (usually 2-3 will suffice), add some water, and use this mixture straight up on your skin. You can also add aspirin to your regular cleanser for a home-made exfoliant.

Make the aspirin toner

Dissolve some aspirin in a bottle of water and add green tea, witch hazel, apple cider vinegar, tea tree oil, or whatever ingredients of your choice (you can also make it with just water). Shake up the bottle and apply like you would a regular toner. However, the thing about using an aspirin toner is sometimes you’ll end up getting tiny aspirin grains on your face and that can get annoying.

Side affect & warning

1. do not use this mask if you are allergic to aspirin.

2. Using the aspirin mask, or any exfoliant at that, will probably make your skin more sensitive, so it’s a good idea to avoid the sun at peak hours and to wear a good sunscreen.

3. the aspirin mask can help someone improve their skin, but it cannot replace a good skin care routine or soundly formulated products. Be careful when you are using the mask and make sure to educate yourself about all possible risks.
